An example of Listing's plane
Using 3D coils measures of eye position, one sees that
1) eye positions are confined to a planar surface
2) the surface has a finite thickness (SD ranges from .4 to 1.1 deg.)
3) the surface is equally thick over the horizontal & vertical range
4) eye position is confined to a plane during saccades as well as after saccades.
