In the horizontal VOR, we saw that the tonic component comes via the n. Prepositus Hypoglossi, nPPH (lesions cause horizontal gaze paretic nystagmus)

In the vertical & torsional VOR, the tonic component comes via the interstitial n. Cajal, INC (lesions cause vertical & torsional gaze paretic nystagmus)
