The 3-D Nature of Eye Movements

Each eye has 3 agonist/antagonist muscle pairs

This allows rotations about any axis in 3 dimensions; turning the eye right or left, up or down, and clockwise or counter clockwise.

We saw how horizontal saccades were produced.
