"The subject holds a finger in front. Her
arm is braced against her body so that it moves with her. The
examiner rotates the chair slowly while watching the subject's eyes.
Since her finger is motionless relative to her head, no vestibular
eye movements are seen. Fixation and smooth pursuit are able to
completely inhibit vestibular nystagmus."
