"This young woman has a pontine glioma and asymmetric gaze paretic nystagmus that is larger in right gaze. She also has rebound nystagmus. In left gaze the nystagmus gradually decreases and becomes downbeating. On return to center gaze, a transient right beating rebound nystagmus is present. Gaze paretic nystagmus is larger in amplitude in right gaze. On prolonged right gaze, again, a downbeating nystagmus develops. rebound nystagmus will also be present on return to center gaze. The transient nystagmus will be beating toward the left. Rebound nystagmus is associated with damage to the cerebellum"
