Congenital Nystagmus (example 1)

"The congenital nystagmus in this young man has a jerk wave form with fast components beating to the right in center gaze. The amplitude increases in right gaze. Patients with congenital nystagmus do not complain of oscillopsia, but may notice blurring of vision in directions of gaze in which the nystagmus is greater in amplitude. A null zone is present in left gaze. Patients will often assume a face turn to place the eyes in the null zone to improve vision. Nystagmus remains horizontal in upgaze unlike acquired forms of nystagmus."
